Friday, May 20th T had all her wisdom teeth pulled. Only 3 were visible on the x-ray and all 3 were pulled. The dental surgeon was recommended by the orthodontist's office. T was put under anesthesia and didn't remember a thing. The entire procedure took about 30 minutes.
They have quite the production line going at the dental office. When T was in the recovery area they had me pull the car around the side of the building. Taylor was sitting up in a very comfy looking chair but her head was bobbing. Like those bobbing dolls you see on the back dash of cars.
"T, are you all right?" She smiles at me. Her head bobs some more.
"Is she all right?" I asked the dental assistant who has been beside T the entire time.
I don't know what it is about seeing your child in an antiseptic like environment, acting uncharacteristically that cause blood to drain from your brain. As in the dental assistant taking one look at you and saying, "Do you need to sit down? Here, here's a chair."
Or as in the orthodontic surgeon briskly walking in staring at you asking, "Are you all right?"
I think DH better take the next child that gets her wisdom teeth extracted to the appointment.
All in all it was a positive experience for T. No complications. She did not even need pain medication. She had to eat very soft foods and chew carefully for about 4 days. The dental office gave her a special syringe that she could easily squirt water into the tooth sockets to flush food particles from them. She said she was amazed at much food got stuck in the pockets.
Highly recommend the dental surgeon.
