When T was about 4 or 5 and H was 2 they used to play a game where T would throw the clean socks on the floor and pretend they were fish in the ocean. She even identified some as sharks and barracudas. Then the girls would hop from one piece of furniture (the boats) to another with squeals of delight. H would point to the socks and shout, "Fis, fis." T talking up a storm and H sitting wide eyed and taking it all in.
Delight in these moments because before you know it socks become mere laundry.
