Memory Lane: Rabbits

These photos were taken about 8 years ago.

These rabbits were left behind for our children by the previous owners of the house. Notice the wire fencing in the above picture.

Remember what I talked about on this post?  The children enjoyed these fluff balls for about a year. One night coyotes came and chewed threw the fencing in the first picture shown above.

 

Because the children were devastated we went out and purchased another rabbit. The first night we put the rabbit in a hutch that had heavier gauged wire on it.The rabbit hutch was in a fenced off area.

Less than 24 hours after getting that rabbit the coyotes broke through the outer fence again and chewed threw the heavy gauge wire on the hutch.  I don't have to tell you what the outcome of that was.

We then put up no climb horse fencing and the coyotes were unable to penetrate that barrier.  We got a couple more rabbits.  That was a mistake.   Fully understand the meaning of  "multiplying like rabbits."
